Everything Else
Twitter will soon be paying verified creators who serve ads
A lot has changed on Twitter ever since Elon Musk took over, advertising in particular. And one of the recent announcements that people have been talking about is Twitter’s plan to pay verified creators who allow ad placements in their replies.
Elon Musk made the announcement in the below Tweet.
In a few weeks, X/Twitter will start paying creators for ads served in their replies. First block payment totals $5M.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 9, 2023
Note, the creator must be verified and only ads served to verified users count.
Apple Vision Pro
Announcements at Apple’s WWDC 2023 were the other hot topics last week. One of the most discussed among them is Apple’s announcement of Apple Vision Pro, a mixed-reality headset.

As we move toward AI technology in most aspects, futuristic spatial computing devices like this one are all set to change the way we interact with our everyday gadgets. And we all know when Apple does something, other brands soon follow the path. So there is a high likelihood of mixed reality headsets becoming a common thing soon.

If you thought keeping up with the growing number of social media platforms is difficult, you have to hear this. Meta recently announced a Twitter competitor.
Entrepreneur Magazine highlighted this new Meta venture in the below Instagram post. The linked blog takes a brief look at what’s happening behind the scenes regarding this new platform from Meta.
This standalone app from Meta comes as a response from the platform after the many changes that Twitter saw with Elon Musk taking over. With a few advertisers backing off of Twitter, Meta is all set to tap into the gap in the market.
TikTok working to become a search engine
While a lot of social media platforms come and go, the dominance of search engines still remains. Google, in particular, happens to be the go-to place for people looking for answers. TikTok is challenging this trend with the upgrades to the search feature on the platform.
In the below short video, Neil Patel, co-founder of Crazy Egg and Hello Bar, and one of the most renowned marketers in the world, briefs how TikTok’s search is about to change in the coming days.
Given that TikTok has become one of the most popular platforms to help brands connect with their customers, a convenient way to search, find and engage with businesses will be a game-changer, indeed.
On a final note
While we see progress in all these segments, you might notice that most progress is happening in favor of AI and other new technologies. After all, businesses are always on the lookout for ways in which they can understand their customers better, and engage them better. Generative AI for content creation, CRM, and a host of other updates we discussed are inclined toward creating this more productive customer-centric approach for businesses.
